Training is essential to church planting success. FEB Central Church Planting offers ongoing training and support for Church Planters throughout all stages of the church planting journey. The mission for our Church Planter training is to assess, train, and support Church Planters to launch and multiply new FEB Central Churches and Church Planters.
The Components Of Our Church Planter Training
-
Assessments offer possible Planters an opportunity to explore whether God could be calling them to church planting and have shown to dramatically improve the success rate of Church Planters.
Assessments include:
• Group interaction
• Evangelism role play scenarios
• A mini-sermon presentation
• An assessment interview
-
Approved Church Planters will go through a multi-day Greenhouse training:
• Day One — Biblical Principles for Church Planting
• Day Two — Personal Preparation and Core Team Development
• Day Three — Ministry Plan Development/ Fundraising
Planters will finish the Greenhouse training and will take some time to digest all that they have learned and the vision they have begun to develop. Several weeks later they will attend the "Dig-In" where they will establish a clear action plan to take the next steps in planting a church.
-
Ongoing training and coaching is essential for Planters to be as effective as possible. FEB Central Church Planting provides training and coaching throughout all stages of the church planting journey.
Church Planter Training 1.0 follows up the Greenhouse training with regular roundtable gatherings, which will provide community and strategic training. We will also provide ongoing coaching to follow up on personal growth plans, ministry plans, and financial plans. This stage lasts for the first two years of planting.
-
After two years, Planters will transition to Church Planter Training 2.0, which weighs more heavily on networking with peer planters concerning the mechanics of leading a church to maturity and formal recognition.
For this year, Church Planter Training 2.0 will take place on the same dates and at the same locations as our other roundtables, yet we will plan unique experiences and events for these Planters.
-
Finally, Church Planter Training 3.0 will be a dynamic platform for networking, reserved for those who are currently strategizing the planting of multiple churches. We will be facilitating informal discussions about the possibility of your church taking significant steps towards planting a new church as well as looking at your involvement in coaching new Church Planters.
-
Roundtables are designed to equip Planters with the skills and competencies required to plant well. We will examine a series of topics from a pastoral theology perspective, deeply rooted in Biblical convictions, with intensely practical steps. Here are some of the topics that will be covered:
Character Development and Personal Discipline
Evangelism
Contextual Ministry and Community Engagement
Vision Casting
Budget Development
Preaching Development
Team Strengthening
Strategic Prayer
Planting a Reproducing Church
Discipleship
-
We will match you up with one of our Church Planting Coaches who will connect with you on a regular basis and be a great resource for you as you prepare to launch your church plant as well as after you have launched.
-
If you are sensing a strong call to church planting, yet would benefit from a few more years of practical experience before launching, we recommend applying to become a Church Planting Apprentice. As an apprentice, you will be placed with a church where you will receive valuable church planting experience, strong mentorship, time to test your theories, and will be included in our ongoing church planting training events. This opportunity lasts two or three years, can be either part-time or full-time, and will be funded by a combination of FEB Central resources, local church funds, and fundraising support.
Graduate Certificate in church planting at heritage college & seminary
Heritage Theological Seminary is pleased to offer a five-course program entitled Graduate Certificate in Church Planting. It is designed to train and equip those who are either preparing to plant a local church or are already leading a church plant by providing the tools and guidance to help churches and their leaders thrive in ministry. Leaders from church planting churches will also find it helpful as preparation for launching daughter churches or sites.
